About Us
Apprentice U is an education and worldview integration program for Christian students in secular universities. It is a response to two realities:
- The transition into young adulthood is accompanied by a renegotiation, and often abandonment, of faith. The abandonment of faith and/or church affiliation is epidemic among Christian students in secular universities.
- Although Christian universities can be good alternatives, they are often limited in their program offerings. For this and other reasons, many Christian students continue to pursue their vocation through secular institutions.
The inspiration for the title comes from Dallas Willard, who extends Jesus’ invitation to become “his apprentices in kingdom living.” The notion of being an “apprentice” is also fitting because it refers to one who is training under a journeyman to serve in a particular trade and can be readily applied to the process of entering a profession.
Our Vision:
Apprentices of Christ in every profession.
Our Mission:
To make disciples of Christ by providing Christian students in secular universities with Spirit-infused, biblically-grounded Christian education and communities of learning.
